While the nature of the “how-we-met” story begins like most these days—on a dating app (Bumble)—the circumstances were certainly unique. It was March of 2023 and Tyler was “prepping” for one of his games on Apple TV by swiping on Saturday afternoon and came across Shannon. The two matched and immediately began chatting while Shannon quickly learned that this guy who she was talking to lived in Chicago and was leaving on a 6 am flight less than 24 hours later. Somehow, Tyler convinced Shannon to meet for a drink after the game and the two enjoyed a fun evening together at Igby’s in downtown Cincinnati. The two stayed in touch for a few months and chalked it up to a fun night. 3 months later Tyler was back in Ohio, this time 90 minutes up the road in Columbus and invited Shannon to spend the weekend and have been inseparable ever since. Nearly two years after meeting at Igby’s…Tyler proposed in the very same bar the two met. A casual but competitive game of Monopoly Deal turned into a "yes" and now we could not be more excited to say "I do" surrounded by the people we love most.
